Rubbernecker Thursday- Vintage Garden
Good Morning! Thanks for stopping by today for another Rubbernecker Thursday. Today I have a card to share with you with a bit of a vintage feel, mostly from my color choices and heavy distressing. I had a few background pieces I had made with the new Distress Oxide Inks, so I used one of them in pinks and browns, as my starting point. I added a mixture of stamps from the new Rubbernecker clear set- Splatter Stains #3006, in a dark brown ink. I really love how it turned out!
I already had my flower pot from Create a Garden 2 #3009 colored , so I added some leaves from the same set. I stamped and die cut my flowers with the matching die set- Pot Garden Die set # 3009D. Then brushed a little tea stain ink over the tops of my flowers with a water brush, it helped tone them down a bit. While the flowers were still wet I added just a tiny dot of the dark brown ink to the centers and let it spread out naturally with the water. I arranged my flowers, then glued them down, some with foam tape so they pop up. I decided my flower panel really needed a distressed look also, so i went to town with the ink around the edges. Finally I added a sentiment with Best Friends Etc.#3032, on a little free hand banner. A brown flower button with twine finished it all off.
I hope that you enjoyed today’s card, leave me a message and let me know what you think! Please pop over to the Rubbernecker Inspiration Blog for more ideas and great creations from the other design team members! 🙂
