Hello! Welcome to another FSJ Designers Showcase Blog Hop!! This month we are featuring “Pockets and Lockets”, using some fun items that are currently on sale in the month of November. Click HERE to see the sale flyer! With the holidays coming up fast I chose to focus on the Pocket Dies for this hop. There are so many great dies in this sale to choose from, for creating wonderful packaging for all kinds of small gifts and gift cards! I chose to use the Double Pocket Card Die (DI-0298) and the Pocket Trims (DI-0297) for my first project today. I cut out the base for the Double Pocket Card from Cool Pool card stock, and all the trim pieces from Whip Cream card stock. I stamped the front pocket with the Graduated Dots background stamp (SS-0117), in Cool Pool ink.. For the center piece I stamped Striped Wall (SS-0180) in Blue Lagoon ink. For the back panel I used Flannel Life (SS-0325), again in Cool Pool ink. I then added all the trims to the top of each of the panels, folded the tabs and glued the card together to create my pockets. I used one of the trim pieces turned upside down and coated with Sparkle Silk (IP-0126) for the “snow” at the bottom on the front pocket. Santa, the small trees, and the sentiment are all from Be Jolly (SS-0178), and colored with colored pencils and gamsol. I added a few “snowflakes” from my Holiday Elements Journey Sequins (AC-0116) to finish the front. The center pocket is great to tuck a gift card, or even a little cash as a gift. While the top pocket is great to add a personal note to complete your gift/card. I added a small pull out tag for my greeting and personal note, made from Whip Cream card stock and stamped lightly with Vintage Notes (SS-0303). A little Sweet Berry Gingham Ribbon (AC-0093), embellished with a Metal Button (AC-0034) and a touch of Natural Twine (AC-0005) make it so easy to pull this little note from the back pocket.
I was having so much fun, I decided to make another pocket project to share!
This is an A-2 size card with a gift card pocket on the front as part of the design! I used the same stamp set, Be Jolly, for my focal image and sentiment. I also used Flannel Life and Graduated Dots background stamps for this card as well. This is the Window Pocket Die (DI-0150) cut from Green Olive card stock and stamped with Green Olive ink. I love this little pocket because it works so well on a card like this, or alone as a gift card holder, but also for a scrapbook page, or a pocket page album!! I made a “tag gift card holder insert” for my window pocket, using the steel ruled die Tag Set (SR-0014).
I scored and folded my Sweet Pear card stock before die cutting, making it possible to slide a gift card inside. I stamped the front side with Canvas Prints background (SS-0019) in Limeade Splash ink, and added the sentiment in Cranberry Bliss ink, before I added the ribbon and button.
The Doily Die (DI-0105) really helped to brighten things up as well as add a great texture element. I finished things off with a few red flower sequins from the Holiday Elements Sequins, and a little “poinsettia” I made with Flower Layers Die Set (DI-0067) with a few pearls for the center.
I hope that you enjoyed my projects today, the next stop on the Hop is…
