Designer’s Showcase Team Blog Hop- Hearts and Things

Welcome to the first Designer’s Showcase Team Blog Hop of 2018! Our theme this month is Valentine’s and Love. I realized that I don’t have any current Valentine’s sets (**gasp!**)  so I had to get creative! I decided to start with this awesome die set, Decorative Hearts (DI-0218). I thought I would share a fun and different way to use this die, to create a stencil that can be used with Pan Pastels or inks, to add some color to those lovely flowers. This set of 6 dies, includes three different hearts. The lacy flower cut outs are separate from the outer hearts, so you can just cut out the lacy flowers anywhere on your paper!  I used a piece of vellum cardstock for my stencil.

I taped my Whip Cream cardstock down with some washi tape, to keep it in place. I used a single piece of washi tape at the top of my “stencil” like a hinge, so I could lift it and put it back exactly where it was with ease. I used Pan Pastels to add color to the cut out areas.
When I finished coloring, I used the outer heart die to cut the whole thing out to add to my card.
I added the Graduated Dots to my background panel of Lavender Fusion cardstock, in Grape Fusion ink. My sentiment is from Hello Love,  I used clear pigment ink and white embossing powder to add it to my card. A few white Sweet Candy Drops and a little ribbon finish it all off.
The next stop on the blog hop is the talented Sara Sherlock!
