Rubbernecker Thursday- Create a Garden
Welcome to another Rubbernecker Thursday! Today’s card is all about flowers! I am featuring two clear sets today, Create a garden 2 #3009 and Create a garden 3 #3002. Both of these sets have a lovely selection of different flowers and leaves to build your own beautiful garden scene. # 2 comes with two clay type pots that you can “plant” your scene in, and #3 comes with this wonderful half barrel that I have used on my card today. Each of these sets have their own matching dis set as well!! Pot Garden Die Set #3009D and Barrel Garden Die Set # 3002D. For this card I stamped my flowers in Distress Inks and blended the ink with my water brush, fo a softer water color look, then going back and adding a touch of shadow and depth with more ink and the water brush after they were dry. It is amazing how quick you can achieve such beautiful results with this technique! I started by figuring out where my barrel would be and then stamping a few for the leafy branches for a frame work. My blue flowers were first, then the yellow, red, pink, and last the deep purple. There are a few smaller leafy stamps that I added in between as I went. I also stamped several of the flowers on a separate piece of paper so I could die cut them to ‘pop’ up over the original, for added interest. I ended up fussy cutting the whole flower arrangement out and popping it up over the die cut barrel as well. A few tiny pearls from my stash finish the centers of a few of the flowers and add just a little something special to draw the eye. The background is a lovely script background stamp, Blows and drifts #685. I love the landscape style of this background. I stamped the background stamp in Distress Oxide inks and misted my paper so the words would look slightly blurred and aged. The sentiment is from Garden Tool Set #3016, I stamped it in a matching ink and cut it into three pieces to fit in the space I had.
I love how this card turned out so much!! Who wouldn’t love receiving a beautiful paper flower arrangement like this?! I would love to hear what you think.
